The Background
Mithi Cravings had built a loyal following - over 1,000 happy customers, a 4.9 average rating, and a growing dessert business known for handcrafted cakes, cheesecakes and brownies. But almost all of their online orders were flowing through Zomato and Swiggy. Every single order came with a commission cut taken off the top, plus listing fees and payout delays. The better the business did, the more it paid away just to keep receiving its own orders. There was no direct line between Mithi Cravings and its customers. The platform owned that relationship - not the brand.
